Join the Baptist Crossroads Project
in Rebuilding the Upper Ninth Ward
of New Orleans

The corner of Alvar and N. Prieur Streets in the Upper 9th Ward of New Orleans has become nationally known as a beacon of hope in our flood-ravaged city.  National and international press photographed it to represent progress in the city and President Bush was interviewed in front of the homes built by Crossroad volunteers on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.  Thirty homes were completed in the Summer and Fall of 2006 and ten more will be completed during the spring of 2007 to complete the pre-Katrina vision of the original calling to build 40 homes in order to help lift families out of poverty through home ownership.

What a great accomplishment and humanitarian effort by thousands of volunteers in partnership with Baptist Crossroads and Habitat for Humanity!  Our heartfelt thanks go to every volunteer who worked and prayed.  You brought hope and set an example of how a community can be re-built in our devastated city.
